Valentina: Grazie! The idea was to explore the duality of pearls. They are traditionally seen as elegant, classic, even demure. But I wanted to juxtapose that with a sense of raw sensuality and strength. Pearls, despite their delicate appearance, are born from resilience, from overcoming irritation. I wanted to embody that power.
Interviewer: That's a beautiful interpretation. The images are quite striking, showcasing the pearls in a very modern and empowered way. How did the jewelry itself inspire you during the shoot?
Valentina: The weight of the pearls, the cool smoothness against my skin… it was incredibly tactile. Each piece had its own story, its own luminescence. It made me think about the women who might have worn them before, the journeys they might have been on. It wasn't just about looking beautiful; it was about feeling a connection to something timeless and precious.
Interviewer: There's a certain vulnerability and confidence that comes across in the photos. Was that intentional?
Valentina: Absolutely. For me, true strength lies in embracing vulnerability. The pearls themselves have a delicate beauty, and to wear them with confidence, in a way that feels authentically me, required a certain openness. It's about owning your sensuality and your power without apology.
Interviewer: Pearls have such a rich history and symbolism. Did any of that historical context play a role in how you approached the shoot?
Valentina: Definitely. Pearls have been symbols of purity, of wealth, of wisdom… across different cultures and throughout history. I wanted to acknowledge that legacy while also reclaiming it, giving it a modern edge. It's about respecting the past while firmly planting yourself in the present.

Interviewer: You're known for your artistic approach to your work. How did you collaborate with the photographer and the stylist to bring this vision to life?
Valentina: Collaboration is key! We had extensive conversations beforehand about the mood, the lighting, the styling. We wanted to create images that were both beautiful and thought-provoking. The photographer understood my desire to capture a certain rawness, and the stylist was brilliant in selecting pieces that complemented my vision. It was a true meeting of creative minds.
Interviewer: Were there any particular pieces of jewelry that stood out to you during the shoot?
Valentina: There was a long strand of baroque pearls that felt incredibly luxurious and substantial. When I wore it draped across my back, it felt almost like armor, but a very elegant and sensual kind of armor. And there were these delicate pearl earrings that caught the light in such a captivating way. Each piece contributed to the overall narrative.
Interviewer: The response to the photoshoot has been overwhelmingly positive. What do you hope viewers take away from these images?
Valentina: I hope it encourages them to see beauty in unexpected places, to embrace their own strength and sensuality, and to perhaps reconsider traditional symbols in a new light. And maybe, just maybe, to appreciate the enduring elegance and power of pearls.
