You are pretty much correct in answering these questions because you have faced these things many times in your life.
But can you answer these questions?
1. How many atoms are their in a rose flower?
Your answer may be- 100 million.
2. How many cells are there in a adult male?
Your answer may be- 100 million.
3. How far the Sagittarius ( Biggest black hole in the milky way ) is located from the sun?
Your answer may be-1000 million kilometers.
Your answer may be not very appropriate, because these things you have never faced in your life.
There are two form of this world where you are living, one is very much small and the other is very much big. Both of these world is not fully known to us.
So, firstly I'm going to tell you about the small world which is every where around you. This world is also exist inside you. There is a big world of microorganisms exists inside your body.
We are made up of cells which is about in millions of number per millimeter^3. Each cell have their own organelle which helps in their survival. Then think about those organelles which have been fitted in these cells. Our body contains eukaryotic cells which has been developed very much in past 3.8 billion years ago and these cells are 10 times much bigger than prokaryotic cells. The first living thing on this earth is made up of these cells. Those organisms can survive in very extreme weather. Which have been faced by our planets in its younger age.
But still these are not the tiniest particle of the universe. Cells of all the living or non-living things is made up of group of elements known as molecule. Molecule is the smallest structure of a compound which have same properties as like its big form. For example- molecules of the magnesium oxide (MgO) will behave like same as its big form does.
But still molecules are compost of different elements. Which combined to form a molecule.
All element possess its own characteristics which determines by the number of electron, proton and neutron are present in their atom. For example- Atom of hydrogen have only one electron and proton. The size of an atom is incredibly small which we can't imagine. Here is an example by which you can imagine its size much accurately. Imagine that we enlarged an entire hydrogen atom to the size of about ten centimeters. To preserve the ratio, we enlarged the 10 centimeters marble by the same multiple. Then you will observe that marble as eight time more than the size of the earth. Here you got an idea about the size of the Atom.
We have talked lot more about the small world and now it's time to talk about the big world.
The sphere on which you are living have radius of 13 thousand kilometers. If you will try to walk whole Earth it can take up to a year. Jupiter is the largest planet in our solar system which have diameter of 142,800 kilometers. And have volume of about 1,300 times more than the volume of earth. It means 1,300 earth can fit into the Jupiter. But it is not the biggest body in our solar system. Our own star is much bigger than the Jupiter. Sun have diameter of about 1.4 million kilometers which is about 110 of earth diameter. If drive whole circumference of the sun then you need 5 years. The sun have an incredible volume in which millions of earth can fix.
But in space there is even more stars which is much bigger than the Sun. The largest known star is UY scuti which have a monstrous diameter of about 2.4 billion kilometers which is equals to the diameter of 1700 sun. If you drive its circumference then you need eight thousands years to complete one rotation. But even it is not the bigger than the supermassive black hole which have diameter about 90 billion kilometers. Even the light takes four days to cover whole distance of black hole.
Now you can think how small our earth is and how much small you are.
